Saturday Nights.

I think I've said it before, but in case I haven't I'll say it again, for this blog alone, I love Saturday nights. Scrolling through all the linked Saturday Night Special ideas on Funky Junk Interiors has become my favorite way to unwind on Saturday night~ especially if I have a bottle of wine to enjoy while I'm scoping out the project links!

I have discovered so many fun project ideas along with so many cool websites through her blog. Not to mention all the inspiration and decorating ideas I've gleaned. Heck, half the project and decorating ideas I post are things I have come across on the Saturday Night Specials. My stacked basket post from a few days ago is one example.

Those ideas and that inspiration are the difference between having a house and making a home. They have inspired me to stretch and grow and learn some new skills~ like using new tools or refinishing something. That alone is priceless. Those kinds of skills are something I can carry with me now the rest of my life, something I can teach my kids beyond the basics of cleaning and cooking that is.

Am I being a little dramatic here? Maybe. But how cool is it to have a new skill (or a new found love!) of sanding and refinishing and be able to share it with my kids?! How fun is it to be able to scour garage sales and find new uses for old things simply because I now have the tools and skills to do so?!

Sure, some nights are better than others. Like tonight for example. Tonight didn't have much in the way of projects or ideas to copy, but it's still fun to just nose around after Addison and Noah go to bed. In the end I still walked away feeling inspired. I felt rejuvenated and I felt the urge to really dive into the few projects I have on my "to-do" list.
