Haven't posted a recipe in a while, so I thought I'd post one. This one is so yummy and literally takes only 5 minutes to prep. Gotta love it!
Apple Bars
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup Apple Butter (3/4 cup apple sauce)
1/2 cup sugar
Combine first five ingredients, push firmly into ungreased 8 x 8 inch pan. Pour on the apple butter, spreading evenly, then top with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Easy to pack for travel after they are cool. Great for breakfast, dessert or lunch boxes. Inexpensive, too!

Addison and Church.
After a bit of rambling, I have to share a little story.......
Marty had to work tonight. So rather than sit at home for 3 hours trying to keep Addison somewhat contained and Meghan and Noah from killing each other while Marty was gone, I decided to get everyone organized for church. We made it there totally unscathed. I was so proud of myself! I even managed to get all three to their respective classes and find a seat for myself with 10 minutes to spare.
I couldn't believe it, 10 minutes of NOTHING to do. No one clinging, no one saying "hey mom", no one asking for a "hn-naah" (aka snack), no errands, no chores; no nothing. I thought I was on vacation! I know what you're thinking, this from the person who hates doing anything alone? All I can say is..... Yep!! And I loved it!! (does this mean I'm getting old and cranky?)
Anyway, after enjoying my hour of being spiritually fed, I hightailed it out of there to pick up everyone up. I got to Addison's room and one of the volunteers said "You're here for Addie, but which one?" I said you mean there's more than one??
Get this.....there were 5 kids in the Walkers room tonight. 3 boys and 2 girls. The boys were Noah, Nick and Kaden, the girls were Addison and Adison.
When we picked Addison's name I had never even HEARD of the name Addison. We thought we were being so different, so original. Apparently so did the rest of the world because Addison was one of the top names for 2008. Go figure.
Ahh! But how many are Addison Noelle?!
