Another Update.

I was thinking, as long as I'm updating, I should give you an update on some other things as well.

I am pleased to report that I have conquered my fear of doing things alone and now manage to get to the Y for a good workout at least 4 days a week. Sometimes I even get there twice a day. Noah has been participating in their basketball program and loving it as well as all their gym time activities, Addie keeps 'em hopping in the childcare room (I sure hope they pay those caregivers well!) and I am thoroughly enjoying my hour long workouts. Give me an open treadmill (preferably one by a fan!) and my MP3 player and I'm one happy mom!

As I mentioned in my previous post, we've been busy with home projects these days. Along with that has come some decorating. As promised, I've been adding little touches here and there. Re-arranging, re-purposing, de-cluttering; it's been fun. But what's even better is that our house now feels like a home. It's about time if you ask me!

As for my baking.....well.....I'm trying. We've had more yummy desserts in the past few months than we've had in 13 1/2 years of marriage combined but I most definitely am not baking every week like I had hoped. I'll have to keep working on that goal I guess!

Update.

I was told by my mom that I needed to update our blog. Guess she was tired of reading about the missionaries.

Anyway, I just haven't had time to blog these days. We have been in project mode around here......fixing what needs to be fixed, organizing what needs to be organized etc. Have to say it feels good to finally have them completed! Our "to do" list started out being 5 pages long. I think we've got it down to two pages now. Whew!

I survived Addison's first birthday. Barely. It was a teary day for me, but I kept myself busy and that seemed to help. I just cannot get over the fact that my baby is one year old already. It goes so darned fast. Before I know it she'll be dating.... Time to start thinking about that fourth one I guess! (lol!)

Now we're gearing up for our annual vacation. It will most certainly be interesting to go on vacation with Addison. I am not entirely sure the resort is ready for her. She may be ready for it, but I doubt it's ready for her! Should be a fun week though~ it always is. Let's just hope the weather holds out!

Beyond that we are just plugging away here. Between T-Ball and Musical rehearsal Marty and I are staying busy chauffeuring and lamenting about the fact that our kids are getting older. Whatever happened to our babies?! Seriously, Meghan should only be about 4 or 5 now.....right?!

Happy Happy Saturday.

What a great day it's been!

Everyone slept in until 7:00. (virtually unheard of around here)

Marty made us eggs for breakfast before we hit the neighborhood garage sales. (didn't find a thing but enjoyed strolling through our neighborhood all the same!)

Had a tasty lunch of lunchmeat sandwiches, potato chips and Strawberry Lemonade. (see the thrifty blogger for details on our lunch!)

Visited Walmart's garden center for a gardening fix and treated myself to some mulch for our tree. (couldn't find any flowers that I liked there~I'll have to hit Home Depot)

Worked out in the yard a bit. (got the mulch spread, some weeds picked, yard raked~ looks better)

Now we are enjoying a cup of coffee before we start cooking dinner. (meatloaf~ yum!)

These are the days I love best!

24 Hour Omelet

Here's another yummy breakfast idea. This is a family favorite around here. The best part is it's so easy!

24 Hour Omelet
6 slices trimmed white bread, buttered
Grated Cheddar cheese (as much as you like)
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 cups milk
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dry mustard
Pepper

Place bread in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Beat eggs, milk, salt, mustard, and pepper. Pour over bread. Refrigerate, covered, overnight.

Add mushrooms, bacon, ham to top before baking if desired.

Bake covered, at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover the last 5 to 10 minutes baking time. When mixture is set, it is ready.
